(National Level Summer Project Competition)
V. M. Patel Institute of Management under Faculty of Management Studies, Ganpat University has organized Eleventh Annual Summer Project Competition during September 26-27, 2014. The Summer Project Competition ‘Pratibha’ is a platform wherein the Best Summer Project Reports of Management Institutions across the country are invited for review and presentation in front of a panel of experts. The reports are evaluated on well-defined criteria and ranked in order of merit based on composite score. The Best Reports are awarded with prize and certificate of appreciation.
The objective behind organizing this competition is to strengthen the importance of 6 weeks of Summer Project Work in MBA Curriculum as also to assimilate the knowledge generated during the project work and disseminate it among the students fraternity.
This platform helps the first year MBA students to take motivation in undertaking better quality of Summer Project work as also the presenters to get quality reviews on their work. Deliberations during the competition helps the participants address various issues related to ‘quality project work’ as also discuss problems and possible solutions for them.
The inaugural function was privileged to have esteemed guests like Mr. Vikram Singh- Retail-CEO , Balaji Agora mall and Dr Mahendra Sharma (I/C – Director, Ganpat University & Chairman for the event) gracing the occasion by their scintillating & motivational speech.
Both the events were successfully completed under the guidance & stewardship of Dr. Mahendra Sharma, I/C – Director, Ganpat University& Chairman for the event, Conveners of Pratibha 2014 were C.A. Ujal Mehta and Dr Hiren Patel and Faculty coordinators for the event Protsahan 2013-14 were Dr. Abhishek Parikh and Prof Mitali Baruah. The event was supported by a very able advisory committee.
Pratibha 2014 had tremendous response from various B Schools across country. Pratibha 2014 had received nominations from 33 institutes out of which 27 Institutions from various parts of the country were shortlisted for presentation. . The event had participation from various out of the state institutions like University business School , Punjab University, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, People Institute of management Studies , Karela besides having perticapation from various premium institutes of Gujarat like B. K.School of Management, ICFAI Business School (IBS) Ahmedabad, Chimanbhai Patel Institute of Management & Research , Parul Institute of Management, Vadodara ,L. J. Institute of Management , Parul Institute of Management & Research ,GLS MBA ,Sal Institute of Management , Amrutmodi School of Business Management, S. K.Patel Institute of Management & Computer Studies , Gandhinagar ,SVIM, Kadi to name few.
This time an initiative under the guidance of Chairman of the event Dr. Mahendra Sharma was taken in order to disseminate the details of the project work presented during Pratibha 2014 for the benefits of academicians and students. The synopsis of the summer projects are published in a form of compilation called “Sankalan”.
Axis bank has been supporting Pratibha and sponsoring the prizes since last seven years. This time was also no exception. Their support had given the event the necessary corporate branding and added value. Pratibha 2014 had all the prizes i.e First prize worth Rs 15,000, Second Prize worth Rs 10,000, Third Prize and Best Communication Skill Award both worth 5,000 sponsored by Axis Bank.
To judge all the events we had well known names both from the industry and Academics like Dr Anil Singh, Sr. Manager, Product Development Team, ICICI Securities Ltd., Dr Naresh Patel, Prof. And Head , DDIT, Dr Neelima Ruparel , Associate Professor, B.K.School of Management, Dr Harest Barot, Deputy Registrar, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University.
Judges have grilled the participants to get maximum out of their work. Various learning avenues pointed out by judges are Research Design, Research methodology, Hypothesis framing and testing, report writing etc.
The First Prize of Pratibha 2014 went to Mr. Pushpit Chhabra , University Business School, Punjab University, The Second prize winner was Ms Shrimali Khushbu K. from Centre for Management Studies, Ganpat University, The third prize was awarded to Ms. Shruthi Kalathil, N.R Institute of Business Management, Ahmedabad and the Best Communication Skills Award went to Ms. Dhruvi Pranay Bhatt, L.J.Institute of Management Studies.
The Chief Guest of the valedictory function was Mr. Sunish Gupta, Deputy Vice-President, Axis Bank.
